New Zealand sells more high-altitude tandems than anywhere, and it has the scenery to justify them. These 15 cover Queenstown, Taupo, Abel Tasman and the glacier country, with exit altitudes and prices side by side.
Skydive Auckland takes you from Parakai to a tandem jump from up to 18,000 feet, with views toward Auckland’s east and west coasts, Waiheke Island, Piha Beach, and beyond. You’ll freefall at more than 200 km/h for up to 75 seconds, attached to an instructor such as Owen. Hotel transport may be available.

Take a tandem freefall from 9,000, 12,000, or 15,000 feet above Queenstown, with a professional instructor beside you. NZONE provides gear, a safety briefing, and a courtesy coach from central Queenstown. Take a tandem skydive from 12,000, 15,000, or 16,500 feet above Lake Taupo, with 45 to 70 seconds of free fall. Your English-speaking tandem master handles the technical work while you enjoy views of Mount Ruapehu and Mount Ngauruhoe. Take a tandem skydive from 18,000ft above New Zealand’s Bay of Islands, the highest jump in the North Island. Meet your English-speaking instructor at Pukaki-Twizel Airport for a 13,000 or 16,500-foot tandem jump. After a 20-minute scenic flight, you free-fall for up to 70 seconds, then glide beneath the parachute for about five minutes. Guides such as Javier and Megan help nervous jumpers stay calm.
